Life's a Beach!
Grrrrrr to Blogger....it hasn't let me play for a few days....hmmmmm! Anyone else having problems with it?
Anyway........Had a brilliant few days away. Thought it was all going to go pear shaped as when we got to the place where you catch the boat from we were recommended to take a larger boat the next morning as the sea was very rough and it wouldn't be much fun in a speed boat. This meant waiting 24 hours with both kids in a place where there is nothing to do, so we opted to leave there and then. Was fine actually, and Till had the common sense to sleep...either cos the bumpy ride rocked her to sleep, or it was her shut down reflex coming into play! Finn was fine, although had a paddy cos I wouldn't let him stand up and look over the side...! We guessed it would be choppy as we were going in the off peak period..... also known as Monsoon season! We arrived on Friday and there were a couple of families there, but that was it. Met a fab couple who had two kids. Emily was Finn's age (Elermee as Minn called her!) They both worked for the UN and had had tours of duty in Ethiopia, Kosovo, East Timor, Russia and so on.....was fascinating talking to them and we've swapped details so determined to stay in touch and not be my normal crap self at promising but not acting.
Anyway, they left on the Sunday, as did the other family. The boat that took them back to the mainland brought our friends to the island. Gill and Andy have a boy, Toby, same age as Finn. It was heaven........we had the WHOLE PLACE to ourselves!!! The whole freakin' island! Bliss or what!
Days were spent on the beach and in the sea. Despite it being monsoon season, the sky was blue. Just heaven. Finn was poorly one day....just went downhill within minutes. Had a temperature for the first time ever! 2 and half years without one and he gets one on holiday! He fell asleep on me too, which is unheard of. But typical Finn bounced back within hours although he had such swollen tonsils and eating wasn't a popular activity (yeah like it ever is for that boy.....!) Tilly had a ball! She just loved being around people and watching the boys play.

We managed to get Toby obsessed with Peapocks too!! Minn asked dozens of times a day to see them. He does a mean impression of one....must capture it on video!
Beach Babe! In the cool early evening, Tilly would be allowed out of the shade! Poor honey!

Bec, any chance you can extend your time in Singapore and spend a few days on Rawa? Not everyone's cup of tea as there is no electricity during the day, not much hot water and there is nothing to do but chill on the beach.................but we love it!
Back to the real world now though. Minn had a check up today and passed with flying colours despite his throat infection! He has missed a few days of school what with the holiday and being ill so hoping he goes back as happy as he was.
Right, must fly, bathtime for little children...........

Cos it was out of season, and cos we have been a few times, we were upgraded to a waterfront. It was on stilts out in the ocean.....would fall asleep to the waves crashing against the rocks. If you look at the beach photo again, our chalet is the one at the very end.

Oh how LUUUUUSH! You all must have had such a wonderful time and the pictures prove it. Tills is growing up so fast, but she's a total beauty. Finnster looks as cheeky as ever, how many digdigs did he manage to squeeze in his suitcase??
